Will Packer has come a long way from producing the erotic Troís thrillers to creating sophisticated romantic comedies like About Last Night and the Think Like a Man franchise. Juicy Magazine checks in with Kevin Hart and Packer about his box office mojo.
It’s become crystal clear to Hollywood power players that producer Will Packer knows how to open a in film in the No. 1 slot. Packer’s cinema eschews stereotypes and melodrama in favor of keen, entertaining stories starring African-American actors. And judging from a few of his box office hits, Stomp The Yard, Takers, Think Like a Man, Ride Along and About Last Night, multicultural audiences enjoy his brand of storytelling.
This summer fans will revisit their favorite cast of on-screen couples in the highly anticipated Think Like a Man Too. “I’m excited because a lot of people are looking forward to the sequel and it’s really good—it delivers,” Packer says during a call with Juicy. “The first Think Like a Man was about getting the couples together, the beginning and development of some relationships. This one is more of a ruckus and fun. It’s set in Vegas. It’s about the bachelor and bachelorette parties before the wedding of one of our couples.”
