NBC has handed out a script commitment to an untitled female buddy-cop project from Packer and Gossip Girl alum Amanda Lasher, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Ride Along producer Will Packer is off to a strong start in his first TV development season. Packer, via his Universal Television-based production company, has just made his third sale this season. He’s teaming with Growing Up Fisher creator DJ Nash for NBC comedy #PeopleAreTalking, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
“No Good Deed” producer Will Packer has sold a comedy script for a father-son comedy to NBC.
The script, “Like Father, Like Son,” is inspired by actual events from Packer’s life, and will center on a recently divorced man in his early thirties who’s just starting to enjoy the benefits of being young, successful and single when he learns he has a fifteen-year-old son from a one-night-stand he had in college.
ABC has put in development Uncle Buck, a multi-camera comedy based on the classic John Hughes film starring John Candy. The project hails from Universal TV, whose feature sibling produced the movie, and Will Packer Prods., the company of feature producer Will Packer (the Ride Along and Think Like A Man franchises).
